Zandoli begins 1st batch of “Free STEM Education”

zandoliSTEM

Zandoli International Foundation launched Zandoli STEM Incubator last year in an effort to provide free STEM education to communities that may have not had the opportunity to participate in these programs otherwise.  On Saturday, April 1st, ZIF sent all students who signed up last year, the prerequisites to begin the first batch.

If you signed up for the Zandoli STEM Incubator last year, coursework has been emailed to all who registered. If you signed up and did not receive an email with your first course, please message info@zandoli.org.

If you did not get a chance to sign up last year and would like to participate, please complete the form on this page.

http://stem.zandoli.org/

While participants are no longer required to live in Saint Lucia, or Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, the other requirements remain the same.

no_code_blog_image

1.  Access to a computer.

2. Strength in Mathematics.

3. Intense desire to succeed.

4. Self-motivation.

5. Deep sense of purpose.

6. Attend training near Raleigh/Durham or Castries, Saint Lucia. (NO LONGER REQUIRED.  ALL COURSES HAVE BEEN OPTIMIZED FOR ONLINE LEARNING).

7. At least 18 years of age, having completed high school or the equivalent.

8. 3 references from people in your community (no relatives).

Due to the rigorous nature of the coursework and changes in the technology industry, we require all candidates to complete and pass a pre-requisite course.  The course: Big Data & Artificial Intelligence BDAi-101 will take approximate 6 hours to complete; although, you can complete it faster, or take longer if needed.  No penalties will arise from taking extra time; however, to be considered for continuation in the program, it is advised that students complete BDAi-101 by April 30, 2017.  After you complete the program, a career coach from Zandoli will be in touch with you regarding the educational path you would like to choose. Entry into all paths requires a passing grade of 70% in BDAi-101 to move on to the core curriculum.
Please sign up to take the free prerequisite course BDAi-101 here:
We thank you for your interest in STEM education with Zandoli and look forward to helping you reach success towards this effort.

Zandoli identifies U.S. training for Saint Lucian Police

PoliceTrainingSign

We are very proud to have found a source of free training from a federally funded U.S. organization for our police family in Saint Lucia.  The organization offers a series of training from Child Sex Trafficking to Juvenile Justice, and an array of other classes.  We informed them that we as a nonprofit are interested and they were very happy to welcome Saint Lucian law enforcement officers to apply.  We at Zandoli see this as a very good step in the direction of social healing for the people and the police of Saint Lucia.  Law enforcement officers are eligible to sign up today!

Zandoli Welcomes Angel Regis Felix!! Women in STEM on Board!

Angel_Regis_Felix

Zandoli International Foundation welcomes Angel Regis Felix on board this February!

Angel works as a telecom design engineer at a telecommunications firm in Pennsylvania.  She is the current President of Women Entrepreneurs of America, Philadelphia Chapter and their International Ambassador.  As the editor-in-chief of the FACES of WEA magazine her expansive capacity and national reach made it inevitable to appoint her as Director of Women’s Empowerment & Human Development and the Director of Zandoli STEM Council.

Mrs. Felix has been an advocate for education and empowerment in the Caribbean community for years.  She now serves as the Vice President of the Caribbean Culture Commission.  CCC’s main mission is to provide the ‘One Voice’ initiative for the Caribbean community by providing resources such as workshops and consultations on immigration and health care.  We are looking to cross pollinate with them on upcoming agendas including education counselling, voter registration, and export of local goods.

Angel and Director of Technology Corey Desir will work together to forward Zandoli’s ZTech agenda to include Caribbean women and girls in STEM.

wocinstem

Zandoli – “What advice do you have for young people today?”

Angel Regis Felix – “You don’t have to be the ra ra person all the time to make a difference, just be about your purpose. When you are about your purpose, everything else will fall in place. I’m just doing me and being about my purpose.  All this irrelevant white noise is exactly that. Irrelevant.”

We are so honored to have her on #TeamZandoli and are looking forward to forging ahead bright horizons in the field of technology.

ZIF Invites Organizations & Individuals to Support a Sex Offender Registry in Saint Lucia

Zandoli International Foundation has initiated an online petition for the establishment of a public St. Lucia Sex Offender Registry.  The petition is to be presented by ZIF to the Government of St. Lucia asking that convicted sex offenders and St. Lucian nationals living abroad who have been convicted of sex crimes be added to the list.

Every political party has a responsibility to address issues concerning the Rights of the Child.  The issue for protecting children from convicted sex offenders is not a political one; however it highlights Human Rights concerns.  Children are molested at alarming rates every year. From 2013 to 2014, the crime report by the Royal Police Force of St. Lucia states that crimes against children doubled in just 1 year!   mlk

When the predators come, they do not care about what political party your children belong to. Some sex offenders in the UK and US have been given drugs to reduce their testosterone levels in a process called chemical castration to subdue their urges. Child molesters need options that will help them become healthy individuals instead of a silent public that indirectly silences the voices of victims.  We urge organizations in St. Lucia and abroad to provide information that will serve to implement a system of medical treatment and therapy for convicted child sex offenders as well as the victims.

We are not expecting to receive any resistance from the St. Lucian Government of our requests and we wholeheartedly believe that any party in office in the St. Lucian government will support us.  We cannot think of any reason why they would not.

We have reached out to CAFRA as the organization previously submitted a request for a sex offender registry and was not successful.  We are hoping that this was merely overlooked by lower level administration because we cannot believe that this request was rejected.

We are open to the support of all persons and reputable organizations who are interested in forwarding this agenda for the betterment of our children. If you are an organization or an individual interested in this cause CLICK HERE.
